When something does not work, a sensible person gives up and switches and try's something else that might work.
The old story about putting the cheese in tunnel 3 for sometime and then moving it one day to tunnel one. For a few days a rat will keep going up and down tunnel 3, because that is where the cheese is supposed to be.
However, the rat when he gets hungry enough, eventually gives up on tunnel 3 where the cheese is supposed to be and try's tunnel number one, and finds it because the cheese has moved.
The punch line is that the "cheese has moved" but man just will not give up running up and down tunnel 3, because that is where the cheese is SUPPOSED to be, or everyone believes that is where the cheese should be found.
Unlike the rat, man just will not "give up" and keeps searching and trying tunnel 3. even though it is obvious the "cheese has moved".
In this case your reliable income source has moved. It is NO LONGER "watch the jobs tunnel. Look elsewhere, GIVE UP on jobs, its NOT "income" working. (are you indeed a slow learner)
Most have had the idea pounded into their head, (and emptied their parents pocket books to do it) just get a "good education and you will get a good job" and be set for life.
That cheese has been moved.
Give up on tunnel number 3.
